Writer/director Michael J. Bassett has released the first poster for his upcoming movie Solomon Kane and, well, who doesn't want to see a sequel to Van Helsing.

Despite appearances, the James Purefoy starring film doesn't concern the further adventures of the monster slayer. Instead, it is based on the pulp novels by Robert E. Howard, which tell of a 16th century warrior whose violent ways have damned him to hell. In an effort to redeem his soul, he vows to live a life of peace, but has to take up arms once more when a dark force threatens the land. That dark force is neither Dracula nor Stephen Sommers.
