Expendables On Set Footage Online

Expendables On Set Footage Online
Sex, shooting and Stallone being mobbed

Expendables On Set Footage Online

Sylvester Stallone's hard at work right now directing and starring in The Expendables, the none-more-actiony reunion of the hardest men in Hollywood: Stallone, Schwarzenegger, Lundgren, Rourke, Li, Trejo, Statham, Austin, Crews and Couture. And now here's a few snippets of Stallone at work on the set.

As these clips show, the film really is going to have everything we expect: Stallone shooting and quipping; explosions; sea planes; stunts and off-camera scenes of Stallone being mobbed by the locals.

The film's due out early in 2010, so let's hope it delivers a whole heap more of the same by then.

Megan Fox Joins The Crossing

Megan Fox Joins The Crossing
Carjacking thriller next for actress

Megan Fox Joins The Crossing

Megan Fox is getting ready to make The Crossing.

The Transformers star – currently gracing the Empire cover, of course – has signed on to star in the Screen Gems thriller, which seems to be, essentially, Breakdown with the genders reversed.

Fox will play one half of a married couple who fall foul of carjackers upon their return from a holiday in Mexico. With the husband kidnapped, Fox is forced to smuggle heroin across the border in order to secure his release. But, if we know our feisty Fox, she’ll be hatching a plan to turn the table on the kidnappers, and rescue hubby without being caught and spending most of her life in prison. Go, girl!

Byron Willinger and Philip de Blasi wrote the script for the movie, which is being set for a July start date – despite the current lack of a director. That should be remedied soon, with several directors currently in talks with Screen Gems.

Fox will next be seen in the small indie drama, Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen.

New Hurt Locker Trailer Online

Kathryn Bigelow's The Hurt Locker, a long-delayed Gulf War thriller about a bomb disposal team in Iraq, has a new trailer online at Apple, and it's a doozy.

The story focuses on Staff Sergeant William James (Jeremy Renner), who's the point man in an elite bomb removal squad stationed in Iraq. He starts to worry his two subordinates, Sanborn (Anthony Mackie) and Eldridge (Brian Geraghty), by recklessly plunging himself into increasingly dangerous situations. The film also stars Guy Pearce, Ralph Fiennes and David Morse (who you may glimpse in this trailer).

The film doesn't yet have a UK release date, but it's out in the US on June 26.

Patrick Wilson Gets His Funny On

Patrick Wilson Gets His Funny On

With shooting scheduled to start in New York next month, the already heavyweight cast of the sniggertastically-titled Morning Glory has gained another talented thesp, with Patrick Wilson signing up for the Paramount Comedy.

Morning Glory sees Wilson will swap the Owlship for a New York newsroom, in which he plays the love interest of Rachel McAdams' ambitious TV producer. Charged with reviving the flagging fortunes of a morning show, McAdams attempts to coax two antagonistic anchors (Harrison Ford and Diane Keaton) and reverse the ratings slump.

With Roger Michell (Notting Hill, Venus) behind the camera and a script by The Devil Wears Prada writer Aline Brosh McKenna, Morning Glory has a decent pedigree and, although it's unlikely to have the acerbic bite of Broadcast News, we're hoping, possibly against hope, that it channels just a little Ron Burgundy into Harrison Ford's veteran anchorman.

Morning Glory is co-produced for Paramount by JJ Abrams and Bryan Burk under their Bad Robot banner - expect a release sometime in 2010.
