The reboot has Luke Evans set as Eric Draven, the man murdered by criminals but brought back from the land of the dead by a mysterious, mystical crow to get revenge against those who wronged him and his fiancée. F. Javier Gutiérrez is set to direct from Cliff Dorfman’s script. The O’Barr PR blitz will apparently begin with him and the megaphone man stopping by Comic-Con to talk to fans.
“It is important for Crow fans to understand that Relativity, Javier, Luke and the entire team are working on a new adaptation of the book itself,” said O’Barr in a statement picked up by Variety. “I believe that this movie will stand alongside Brandon and his film as a valid work of art, and I look forward to collaborating on the project.”
The cameras are set to crank early next year, so don’t go expecting to see much beyond concept art at the Con. If you’re looking for a fascinating article on the making of the 1994 film, you should check out the current issue of Empire, in shops now and on the iPad.
