New Red Riding Hood Trailer Online

Late last year, the first trailer for Catherine Hardwicke’s new take on the gothic fantasy of Red Riding Hood arrived, bringing it with it glimpses of the imagery that the director is putting into the tale. Now comes a second trailer that, while it essentially just lays out the story again, provides a bit more of a look at the movie – and a flash or two of the wolf.

The fanged beast is at the heart of this paranoid story, that follows young Valerie (Amanda Seyfried) who is trying to live her live and love the way she wants. She’s in love with sexy woodcutter Peter (Shiloh Fernandez), but her parents would prefer she be paired off with wealthy, stable Henry (Max Irons). And when the long truce between the wolf and the villagers goes awry, there’s blood on the ground and murder in the air.

Before long, the locals turn to wolf hunter Father Solomon (Gary Oldman), who quickly spreads paranoia by suggesting that the werewolf is one of the villagers. Cue a hunt for the likely lycanthrope...

There’s clearly passion and darkness to be found here, and Hardwicke herself has been eager to talk up the film. Check out the trailer over at Apple and let us know your thoughts. Red Riding Hood stalks into cinemas on April 15.

Downey Jr Off Oz, The Great & Powerful

Johnny Depp may step in...

Downey Jr Off Oz, The Great & Powerful

Robert Downey Jr just can’t stay attached to anything these days, it would appear. After pulling the eject cord on Gravity, he’s now hopped on board a balloon and drifted away from the lead role in Sam Raimi’s Oz, The Great and Powerful, leaving Disney scrabbling to find a new star. The studio’s possible solution? Stalwart player Johnny Depp.

Oz was designed to act as a semi-prequel to The Wizard of Oz, featuring Downey Jr as the young illusionist whose arrogant actions force him to run away from a travelling circus. The hot air balloon he rides is transported in a tornado to the magical land over the rainbow, where he comes into contact with the two witches who run the place.

Raimi has been locked in to direct for a while now, and Disney had been hoping he would kick off shoot later this year. Designers and other crew have already been hired and set/effects decisions are being made.

The Mouse House has reached out to Depp, and he’s said to be in discussions to take over the part, but his schedule is also an issue. He’s got Dark Shadows with Tim Burton pencilled in next, and there was the small matter of him playing Tonto in The Lone Ranger. Not to mention his possible other commitments to outside work, such as Kathryn Bigelow’s Triple Frontier. And while the Ranger film isn’t quite as far along the development trail, it does have Gore Verbinski set up to direct and might risk shutting down if Depp is suddenly busy on Oz. Oh, and there were those Pirates 5 rumours too.

Still, there’s nothing set in stone yet, so there’s still time for Disney to find another replacement. Doubt Downey Jr will expect to find a big gift basket from the Mouse House next Christmas, though…

Warners Wants To Remake Lethal Weapon

Westworld and Wild Bunch also targeted

Warners Wants To Remake Lethal Weapon

Warner Bros. is in the middle of one of those studio spasms, which is usually what happens when a studio's senior executive leaves. The result? Other worker bees get the various projects and there’s a mad scramble to dig through the archives and find titles that can be rebooted. Now some big film names have been flung back into contention for some remake paint, including Lethal Weapon, Westworld and The Wild Bunch.

All three are either beloved big name franchises (Weapon) or well-regarded movies in their own right (Wild Bunch and, to a lesser extent, Westworld). And while we could sort of see an updated version of Westworld, the idea of someone taking on the Wild Bunch or the Weapon crew just strikes us as heading down the road to disappointment.

But Warners seems committed, particularly to Lethal Weapon. After years of rumours, several script drafts – the latest by original writer Shane Black – and attempts to crank out a fifth entry in the cop series, the studio seems to be putting the bullet in continuing adventures of Riggs and Murtaugh and starting over. The slight problem of Mel Gibson’s public profile hasn’t helped much, either.

Which is why, according to Deadline, Warners has hired Will Beal – a former police officer who scored a scriptwriting gig on the company’s slowly developing Gangster Squad film – to bring the tone back to its tough, edgy origins.

Could Lethal Weapon get remade? And, much more importantly, should it? We get the feeling people will be as mad as Martin Riggs if anyone tries to birth a new duo...

Blomkamp Secures Syd Mead For Elysium

Legendary designer signs on

Blomkamp Secures Syd Mead For Elysium

As District 9 director Neill Blomkamp gears up his next project, Elysium, he’s really locking in some top talent to get the movie made. Not content with nabbing the likes of Matt Damon, old mucker Sharlto Copley and (assuming she actually signs on) Jodie Foster, Blomkamp has secured the services of Syd Mead as set designer.

Who he? He's slightly well known thanks to his career: having provided startling visuals for films such as Blade Runner, Aliens, 2010 and the original Tron, among others. According to Deadline, Mead, who doesn’t just work on any old film, liked District 9 to such a degree that he’s happy to collaborate with Blomkamp.

The director has been touring the big studios this week, letting executives read the script and bringing along a storyboard-laden presentation, and now the Heat Vision Blog reports that Sony, which backed District 9, has swept the others aside in a quick deal to land the rights and help with production.

So he now has the cash in place to let him shoot Elysium and is planning to kick off filming in July in Vancouver, before moving on to Mexico City later in the year. If all goes to schedule, he’ll have a finished product to put in cinemas before the end of 2012.

And Deadline has also dug up some new details on the film, noting that it’s epic in scale, is set 100 years in the future and will feature an element of social commentary just as District 9 did.

Josh Schwartz Picks Up Fun Size

Josh Schwartz Picks Up Fun Size

With successful TV series such as The OC, Gossip Girl and Chuck under his belt, writer/producer Josh Schwartz has been showing signs that he wants to break into the big screen as well. Now he’s locked in his directorial debut, agreeing to make the teen comedy Fun Size for Paramount.

The Hollywood Reporter’s story mentions that the film doesn’t quite have an official greenlight just yet, but that the studio is now looking to get it into cinemas by Halloween this year.

And that’s not because it’s a gory horror comedy: the script, written as a spec by Colbert Report staff member Max Werner, is set among sugar-happy kids on Halloween. Our heroine is a snarky teenage girl who finds herself having to drag her annoying little brother around the local houses trick-or-treating. But then he goes missing and she’s forced to find him before their mother finds out and she’s grounded until she 30.

While Schwartz had apparently had a few projects he was considering (and also took time out to write an early draft of the X-Men: First Class script), Fun Size made the biggest impact and he now aims to start shooting in a couple of months in St Louis.

Michael Clarke Duncan Heads To TV

Michael Clarke Duncan Heads To TV

The parade of actors looking to take leading roles on TV shows just increased by one as Michael Clarke Duncan has signed on to co-star in The Locator, a spin-off of US series Bones.

Like its parent series, the new show is based on a book. This time it’s Richard Greener’s series The Locator about former military policeman Walter Sherman, who has the ability to find anything. He’s certainly got the right name, then.

US network Fox is still looking for an actor to take the title role, but Clarke Duncan has agreed to play the second lead, Leo, the tough-as-nails cowboy philosopher who works with Sherman on his cases.

The spin-off (“The Locator” is still just a working title, apparently), will be introduced via a “backdoor pilot”, i.e. the characters crop up on the original show to get viewers familiar with them, then head out on their own adventures. So expect to see Clarke Duncan and whoever ends up playing Sherman acting alongside Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz of Bones.

Despite notching up a load of guest star appearances on everything from Two and a Half Men to Chuck and CSI, Clarke Duncan has never been the lead on a series before. And even though chances are it'll be more of a procedural than something like The Sopranos or Breaking Bad, we’ll watch…

No J Jonah Jameson In Spider-Man?

Marc Webb and his team have been making the new Spider-Man movie for a while now and while the end of last year saw a raft of casting announcements for many of the major roles, one big hole was still left unplugged: that of spluttering, sarcastic Daily Bugle editor J Jonah Jameson. But now, according to a new report, there’s a reason no one has snagged the part: it doesn’t appear in the film at all.

While IGN has it from reliable sources that the character isn’t cropping up to shout at Andrew Garfield’s hero, there’s been no official confirmation (or denial) yet, so we’re treating this one strictly as a rumour for now.

It’ll be intriguing to see how they plan to handle the Bugle as the newspaper definitely exists in the new take on the Spider-Man universe, with set pictures of a van bearing the paper’s name already cropping up online.

And though we’re sorry to hear that one of the more iconic elements of Peter Parker’s life might – stress might – not turn up, the pressure on whoever took the role to compete with JK Simmons’ excellent version would be high.

So for now, it looks like you’ll have to make do with Emma Stone’s Gwen Stacy, Rhys Ifans’ Dr Curt Connors (AKA The Lizard), Martin Sheen’s Ben Parker, Sally Field’s Aunt May and the idea that we get to see Parker’s parents for the first time, played by Campbell Scott and Julianne Nicholson.

Think it’s all a ruse and they’ll spring a surprise Jameson on the world? We’ll find out for sure on July 3, 2012…

Will Smith Preparing Annie Remake?

Will Smith Preparing Annie Remake?

This sounds like an April fool, but it's only January so we ought to give some credence to Variety's report that Will Smith is setting up an Annie remake at Sony, with Jay-Z at work on the music, and Smith's daughter Willow set for the title role. It's a hard knock life for Willow. 'Stead of kisses, she gets movies.

This wouldn't be the first time Smith has produced a star vehicle for his progeny of course: last summer's Karate Kid was the same kind of deal for Jaden, and its $350m box office gross isn't likely to harm Annie's chances of going ahead. Willow already has a hit single under her belt in the form of the dodgy-sounding Whip My Hair, and isn't a movie novice either: she was in I Am Legend with her dad.

Jay-Z clearly has a thing for showtunes, having sampled Annie's Hard Knock Life and Oliver's I'd Do Anything. Variety's sources are staying tight-lipped about the new Annie's potential score though. Given that Little Orphan Annie was a comic strip long before it was a musical, and long afterwards too (it ran from 1924 and until last summer) the line here is possibly "new adaptation" rather than "remake", which would at least be an interesting direction, and might mean completely new music.

Time will tell, since Annie 2.0 is still at the development stage. We're guessing its unlikely that the film will take the final strip's bizarre direction of having Annie kidnapped by a Balkan war criminal though.

White Off Pride, Prejudice & Zombies

White Off Pride, Prejudice & Zombies
New director sought: apply now!
Source: Deadline

White Off Pride, Prejudice & Zombies

Back in November he won the high-profile gig over a couple of other high-profile directors. But now writer / director / actor Mike White has had to pull out of directing Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, due to a pre-existing commitment at HBO. "Grrr, aarggh," he said in a statement.*

White, who wrote School of Rock, directed Year of the Dog and died on the toilet in Zombieland, landed the project after David O Russell moved on. Lionsgate will be taking P&P&Z back out to potential directors again now, in order to maintain momentum.

Names in the hat previously were Neil Marshall (The Descent, Centurion) and Jeffrey Blitz (Spellbound), but whether this news puts them back in the running (or whether they're still interested) remains to be seen. Whoever ends up helming Seth Graeme-Smith's literary classic / zom-com mash-up will need to get cracking casting an Elizabeth Bennett and a Mr Darcy, and finding a way to expain why the book has beavers living in the Berkshire countryside.

*Not really. What he actually said was "I loved the project and looked forward to working with Lionsgate. Unfortunately, the timing could not be worked out. I wish them the best with the movie."

Anne Hathaway Is Catwoman

Anne Hathaway Is Catwoman
Tom Hardy is the Bane of Batman's life

Source: The LA Times

Anne Hathaway Is Catwoman

Well, that settles that, then. Warner Bros. has just announced that Anne Hathaway has won the race to star in The Dark Knight Rises... as Selina Kyle. Also known as Catwoman. “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to our ensemble as we complete our story," said director Christopher Nolan in a press release.

And, in the same release, WB and Christopher Nolan confirmed that the role Tom Hardy will play in the eagerly-awaited Batman threequel is Bane, the muscle-bound super-steroidal freak who, in the comics, once broke Batman's back. “I am delighted to be working with Tom again and excited to watch him bring to life our new interpretation of one of Batman’s most formidable enemies.”

This represents a flood of information for a Christopher Nolan Bat-movie, and gives us plenty to chew on. We can't wait to see Nolan's take on the twisted relationship between Batman and the capricious Cat - and Hathaway certainly has the chops, and the curves, to fill out the catsuit. Intriguingly, Catwoman isn't mentioned in the WB press release, but with Nolan openly admitting that this is the end of his Bat-tale, it's hard to imagine that Kyle won't become Catwoman at some point in the film.

Still, heck of a year for Hathaway, what with this and her gig hosting the Oscars...

Bane is more interesting. Once again, Nolan is going down the multiple villains route - as he did with Scarecrow and Ra's Al Ghul in Batman Begins, and The Joker and Two-Face in The Dark Knight. But we're intrigued by what he and the magnificent Hardy will bring to the role of Bane, a character who could be laughable in the wrong hands (see Batman & Robin for proof). Will this Bane be more cerebral than the grunting hulk of Schumacherville? Or will he represent the first very real physical threat to Christian Bale's Bat in the trilogy?

Update: As some have pointed out, Bane in the comics is far from a grunting hulk, but a schemer who just happens to have more muscles than your average issue of Men's Health. So, when it comes to battling The Bat, he could have the perfect combination of brains and brawn...

So, what do you think? Happy with these choices? Has the Caped Crusader got enough on his plate with Catwoman and Bane to contend with, or does Nolan have another villainous surprise up his sleeve?

The Dark Knight Rises is out on July 20, 2012.

Captain Hector Barbossa, at your service

Two New Pirates 4 Images Hit The Web

Way back on December 9, we brought you stills from Pirates Of The Carribean 4: On Stranger Tides, including Penelope Cruz being beautiful, Johnny Depp looking a bit drunk, and Ian McShane acting… beardily. And now, we have more. Two more, in fact. Hoorah!

Now one of them eagle-eyed magazine readers might already recognise, sure, what with it already appearing the latest issue – but not online. Just so we're clear on that. Ahem.

The picture in question is an impressive snap of Geoffrey Rush (aka Captain Hector Barbossa) standing alongside our man Cap’n Jack, staring, as you do, into the middle distance.

The other sees Jack carefully making his way through the jungle-like foliage, all surreptious-like, probably looking for something or other. By the looks of the plot outline, the fountain of youth or summink.

If you want more details, go grab yourself a copy of the mag, look at the trailer or, you know, you could wait for the film, which is out May 18.

Fitness Opportunity

Fitness Opportunity

I just remember, how I was crazy with exercise and sport activities when I was young. I like swimming and body exercises. My heart and my soul were caught by a happy girl and healthy boy on the website of the beach. Its appearance is attractive and powerful as it used to be. Especially when I saw the woman who is almost 50, but still has a more youthful than mine, because I am only 30, and not 35 years old as many people said it’s the young age boundary. They showed me about P90X Results. And I try to stayed awake for P90X exercise program. I realize that I need many improvements, I need more energy and have greater demand. “There is no time for exercise” is just an excuse for girls who are lazy and do not care anymore with her or his body.

Thus, without a doubt, I chose insanity workouts and 60 days and decided to start P90X DVD. I did what the coach said firmly. I believed myself refreshed and peaceful every time I took the program 60 days madness. This is really beneficial for me. At home can certainly be a coach of my family’s, which makes them healthier too. Naturally, my youth back and I appreciate my life much.

Now, I am also fascinated with the education offered by the plan of P90X yoga and P90X pull up bar from the DVD. The unit of motion allow me to get completely comfortable. At the same time, the experience of implementation is a kind of emotion for me. Since 2002, I have studied through yoga regularly. These magazines have given me a lot just completely wrong information about studying yoga properly. Now, along with the plan P90X workout, I have a better understanding of yoga.

Due to the small area where there is no club to yoga, I usually do yoga at home alone. By doing some actions with P90X plan, I would normally be made to fit the body more comfortable. Today, it became part of my daily life. I can feel the way I grow to be more balanced and elegant. My balance and coordination capacity have been much better and my flexibility is definitely better. P90X training plan, I realized I would never harass me simply to a reduction of a few pounds pounds. It is vital to becoming happier and healthier.

More details, check these address:

http://www.fatlossblogger.com/

The p90x package consists of 13 DVDs which illustrate workouts, a food guide and exercise planner for tracking your improvement. You can buy p90x at stores with $140-$150 at the time of writing the review.

Now, when it comes to its fitness program, you will find that p90x fitness is 90 days long and it covers exercises like cardio, leg, stretching, yoga X and working on abs. All these workouts are well explained in 12 DVDs which comes with the package. Actually these workouts are designed so that it will work on specific group of muscles. Furthermore, the basics of P90X fitness are 'Muscle Confusion'. As the name suggests the fitness program keeps the muscle challenged by working different areas of the body which in essence, confuses the muscles groups which in turn gives you the maximum workout and results.

Shakeology review
So now that I have officially tasted both flavors of Shakeology, I thought it was time that I told you what I think of the product. First let me say that it is a bit pricey, but if you are using it as a meal replacement (like I am), then it actually can save you money in the long run. What do I mean? Well I am using Shakeology to replace my lunch. Now in the past since I have been eating healthy I have been having a footlong at Subway. I tried just having a 6 inch, but it just didn’t fill me up and I found myself hungry before my next time to eat which usually fell around 2:00 (I try to eat something every 2 hours during the day it helps keep the metabolism firing). So, thanks to the current Subway promotion footlongs have cost me roughly $5.39, not horrible right? One thing to note, sometimes being out and ordering my lunch I steered towards the not so healthy selections (Chicken Pizziola). After figuring in the cost of the milk, yogurt and strawberries it cost me roughly $4.65 a shake. Now I know it’s not much of a savings, but it is better than nothing and I know I am eating “the healthiest meal of the day”.

Shakeology comes in two flavors, Chocolate and Greenberry. When I first started drinking Shakeology I had only tried the Chocolate flavor. In my opinion this is the better flavor and it provides more opportunities to add things to it. So far my favorite is something called a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, it’s almost too good to be good for you. With that said it took some getting used to, but Greenberry is quickly growing on me. It just took some experimenting for me to nail down some good recipes. Right now, I’m using strawberries and vanilla yogurt.

Now, as far as what Shakeology is doing for me. As I mentioned before, during my first week of drinking Shakeology I was using it as a meal replacement. During that first week I lost 5 pounds, but more importantly my energy level picked up tremendously. Everyone is different so it is very likely that you will not have the same results as I am. Another thing I have noticed is that my hair and nails are growing much quicker than they have in the past. I am even seeing more hair on the top of my head, which is a nice added bonus. The one down fall is because of the rapid growth I have had to shave much more often.

Overall I’d have to say I am very happy with Shakeology. I have not found that I am hungrier than normal. In fact I have found it difficult to reach my caloric goals, because I haven’t been hungry at all. I think that with combination of Shakeology, a healthy diet and ChaLEAN Extreme I will be well on my way to reaching my goals.

Ben Affleck Considering American BS

Ben Affleck Considering American BS
He may film the Congress con man script
Source: Deadline

Ben Affleck Considering American BS

Another day, another what-will-Ben-Affleck-do-next rumour. Since the success of The Town, Ben Affleck has found himself being offered half the projects floating around Hollywood. But he’s taking his time deciding what he wants to do next, and has just added another possibility to the list: Eric Warren Singer’s script American Bulls**t.

Even from a basic synopsis, this one sounds compelling for Affleck: it chronicles the strange true story of Abscam, the undercover sting that the FBI ran in the 1980s to smoke out corruption in the US Congress. And giving the story that extra little twist, convicted con artist Melvin Weinberg was hired by the bureau to help run the operation. It makes us think it could be Catch Me If You Can: The Later Years, and American studio types saw it land on the Black List of best unproduced scripts this past December.

The story of Abscam (named because the bureau set up fake business Abdul Enterprises to lure crooked senators and other officials) was the inspiration for the comedy script Moon Over Miami, which director Louis Malle wrote for Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi to star in. But Belushi’s death meant that the movie was scrapped. The current script has Dark Knight producer Charles Roven attached and a deal at Sony, but it remains to be seen if Affleck picks it from the pile.

DreamWorks Now Committing Timecrimes

DreamWorks Now Committing Timecrimes
Steven Zaillian re-writing the US remake
Source: Deadline

DreamWorks Now Committing Timecrimes

Given the impact that Nacho Vigalondo’s Timecrimes had both here and the US, where it toured festivals before finally landing in cinemas in 2008 across the pond and 2009 in the UK, it was surely only a matter of time (pun intended) before Hollywood snapped it up for a remake. But after a few years of relative silence on the project, DreamWorks has swooped into pick up the rights, with Steven Zaillian taking over scripting duties.

Zaillian has actually been involved with the American version from the start, after picking it up in early 2008 alongside United Artists, which had Tom Cruise running the show back then. Their next step was to hire Children of Men screenwriter Timothy Sexton to draft the remake.

But after that version of UA (and parent company MGM) floundered, the US script sat around, doing very little until now, with DreamWorks grabbing it and asking Zaillian to add writer to his producing duties.

Timecrimes is a twisty, brainy little thriller that finds a middle-aged bloke named Hector getting into deep temporal trouble when he spots a naked woman from afar and, through a series of complications, ends up travelling one hour into the past to save his own life.

One of the biggest “name” screenwriters in the business, Zaillian has been busy recently writing The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo for David Fincher (and sealing a deal to adapt The Girl Who Played with Fire) and Moneyball. He’s also got The Irishman, which Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro are planning to reunite to make. It remains to be seen whether Timecrimes will make it out of development limbo, but Zaillian’s extra involvement can’t hurt its chances.
